Event Details
This event will take place on land that is the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and that is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.
Learn to paddleboard with us in partnership with Toronto SUP & Kayak! This is a certified basic course designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to paddleboarding.
What will you learn? You’ll learn about stand-up paddleboard equipment, proper paddling techniques, basic strokes, water safety and injury prevention. At the end of this lesson you will receive a SUP Basic Course certification and have the confidence to paddle board whenever you like!
What to bring?
- Swimwear (or water-appropriate clothing, no heavy clothes that will weigh you down if it gets wet)
- Water bottle
- Sunscreen
- Towel
- Change of clothes
- Snacks if needed
Date: August 22nd
Time: Lesson begins at 5:30pm and will go until 7:30pm. Please arrive by 5:15pm.
Location: Toronto SUP & Kayak at Cherry Beach (1 Cherry Street, Toronto, ON M5A 1A1 — east end of east parking lot)
Cost: $56.5 taxes included. (Regular $79.95): includes paddle board, paddle, PFD, instructor/lesson fees.
Experience Level: No experience required, Beginner Friendly (participants should be comfortable being in the water with a PFD on)

Transportation:
Please note that each participant will be responsible for getting to this event. Carpooling is encouraged, you can organize carpooling through our Private Facebook Group. If you are carpooling with someone, please make sure to chip in for gas/parking.
Note: It should be noted that Cherry st bridge is closed so enter the beach on the east sided (Leslie st and Unwin Ave). Parking is competitive but there is public parking at the beach and Green P parking (#243). The Cherry st bridge closure also means the beach is no longer accessible by transit.

By purchasing a ticket you grant permission for Colour the Trails and sponsors to use any of the photos or videos from this event that have been taken by Colour the Trails videographers and photographers. They will be used for the purpose of sharing experiences with the community and encouraging future participation in events, which can include but is not limited to, print or digital versions, social media and websites without compensation or recognition given. Colour the Trails will not use the photographs in a manner that would exploit or cause malicious representation toward you. Please contact [email protected] BEFORE the event if you do not want to be photographed or on video during an event.
- Cancellation Policy:
- Cancellation At Least 7 Days In Advance: For cancellations made at least 7 days in advance of the scheduled event, no penalties will be incurred. Participants can request a full refund. In some cases when we pre-pay for spots with our hosts, we might need to fill in the spot in order to issue a refund.
- Cancellation Within 7 Days: In the unfortunate event that a cancellation is requested less than 7 days before the scheduled event, or no shows the following policy will apply:
- Refund: Cancellations made less than 7 days of the event will not be eligible for a refund.
- Penalty: A three months ineligibility to attend future events. We leave a right to cancel any registration of the person under penalty in this time frame. After the three-month ineligibility period has elapsed, participants can once again sign up for future events without any restrictions.
FAQ
Do I need to know how to swim?
No , but you must be comfortable falling in the water with a personal flotation device (provided by Toronto SUP & Kayak).
Do I need to stand up?
Challenge by choice! Your instructors will help you feel stable to stand up but you are able to do so when you’re ready! We also enjoy sit down paddling 😉
