Mission

Colour the Trails believes that community starts with an invitation. We celebrate diversity, equity, and inclusion in the outdoors for BIPoC and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. Our hope is to create a safe and welcoming space for all skill levels to connect, learn, and inspire each other, while reclaiming outdoor spaces. This is where community meets joy.

Vision

At Colour the Trails, we envision a world where the outdoors is truly inclusive and welcoming for all. We believe that diversity is not only essential for creating a more just society, but also for fostering creativity, innovation, and excellence. Our vision is to create a community of outdoor-lovers who celebrate and embrace differences, while also advocating for nature.

Celebration

Where community meets joy. We are a dynamic group of people passionate about inspiring BIPoC and 2SLGBTQIA+ to celebrate and enjoy nature.

AutHENTICITY

We are dedicated to showcasing BIPoC and 2SLGBTQIA+ outdoor lovers enjoying the outdoors in all it’s vitality, as we truly are. We create physically and psychologically safe spaces for our community to be present just as they are, and stand strong against tokenism and tokenist representations just as we refuse to assimilate to Whiteness in order to belong in the outdoors.

We work with individuals, companies and organisations to create positive change.​

Mentorship

Knowledge transfer: A mentor has a wealth of knowledge and experience in a particular field or area of expertise. Through regular interaction, a mentor can transfer that knowledge and experience to the mentee, who can benefit from the mentor’s insights, advice, and guidance.

Supportive

We foster a supportive, fun and accessible environment that brings together BIPoC and 2SLGBTQIA, intersectionalities, and stages of their outdoor journey.
