Event Details
We acknowledge the Traditional Territory of the Anishinabek Nation: The People of the Three Fires known as Ojibway (Chippewas), Odawa, and Potawatomi Nations. Blue Mountain is located within the boundary of Treaty 18 region of 1818 and we give thanks to the Chippewas of Saugeen, and the Chippewas of Nawash, now known as the Saugeen Ojibway Nation, as the traditional keepers of this land.
This mentorship is for 18+ BIPOC only and will be held on an application basis.
We are hosting ski and snowboard lessons for the second time in Ontario! This program will be run differently than last year so please read the description carefully.
In partnership with Blue Mountain, we will hosting a skiing or snowboarding mentorship program. The lessons will be held on January 19th, February 2nd, and February 9th, with 5 spots for skiiers and 3 spots for snowboarders.
On each of the three dates, the package will include a two hour group lesson as well as a lift ticket and rentals that will be valid for the full day. The level of instruction will be based on the average skill level of the group. Please share your experience level honestly in the application to help us create the ideal lesson level for the whole group.
Cost: The retail cost for the 3 private lessons, 3 lift tickets, and 3 rental kits would be $684.6 , We are able to offer these lessons at the reduced cost of $339 through our partnership with Arc’teryx and Blue Mountain.
Transportation: Transportation is not included in the ticket price. We highly recommend carpooling using our private Facebook group. We will also create an email thread for successul applicants to coordinate carpooling!

Application
Because this program is more than a 50% discount to retail price and there are far fewer spots for participants this year, we are running the program on an application basis. Please take some time to write a thoughtful application as spots can be quite competitive. We are prioritizing folks who want to participate because they are invested in building community with other participants. Please do not apply if you are only interested in treating us like a discount service. The deadline to apply is January 13th at 12pm EST. Please add [email protected] to your safe sender list to avoid missing your acceptance email. You will have 48 hours to accept and register before we give your spot to someone on the wait-list.

Cancellation Policy
There will be no full or partial refunds once the participation in the program is confirmed. Most of our work is done during planning and preparation stages. If a mentee needs to withdraw from the mentoring program early, there will be no fee adjustments. This includes in the case of injury as we still need to pay the instructor and cover the cost of operating the program, without a replacement participant.
We understand that there might be exceptional circumstances that lead to last-minute cancellations or program withdrawals. If you believe your situation qualifies as an exceptional circumstance, please contact our team as soon as possible. Each case will be reviewed on an individual basis, and a decision regarding the cancellation penalty will be made accordingly.
Content Creation Statement
We ask to respect our work and to not create content to promote any other brands or organizations using footage or images taken during our events. Our team is putting a lot of energy and time into creating community spaces with little support and unrelated organizations should not benefit from our hard labour. You are encouraged to share about Colour the Trails work as it shows the welcoming and safe space we are creating and word of mouth helps our community to grow!
