Event Details

Welcome to winter!

We are happy to have support from Whistler Blackcomb to run skiing and snowboarding programming for 2025 season!

The events are for Black, Indigenous and Racialized folks only

This application is for the Jan 18 lessons only. We will share future dates separately.

We are planning to host lessons across multiple levels on Saturday Jan 18, Sunday Jan 26 and Saturday Mar 1. Each date has different levels; please only fill out applications for days you know you are available and which correspond with your ability. You can use the chart here to find your level. On February 8, we will concentrate on our annual Black Joy on the Slopes event (Black community gathering). If you identify as Black, keep an eye out for a separate announcement.

2025 Season Schedule:
Saturday Jan 18: Level 1 and 3 ski and snowboard
Sunday Jan 26: Level 2, 3, and 5 ski; Level 2 snowboard
Saturday Feb 8: Black Joy on the Slopes
Saturday Mar 1: Level 4 and 5 ski and snowboard

$116 which includes a lift ticket, one full-day lesson, and rentals.
Regular price at Whistler is $415+tax for the lesson, $285-302 for the lift ticket , and $75-$86 for rentals, which means you’re getting a $775-$804 value for $116 plus community support. A great deal, if you ask us!

This form is for Jan 18 lessons only. We will share future dates separately.

Only those who submit an application form will be considered for priority registration for a lesson if selected.
Once we close applications, selected participants will be notified and invited to register for their lessons on a rolling basis. We will share registration details once confirmed with Whistler Blackcomb.

Applications will be closed on Jan 15 and we will send emails to all applicants the night of 15th.

Important
If you haven’t communicated with us by email before, our emails might end up in your spam box. Please add our email addresses [email protected] and [email protected] to your contacts so you don’t miss your spot. Keep an eye on your inbox and our social media for updates.  Check your spam folder 5-7 days before each lesson date.

If you end up registering for a lesson, but cancel on us last moment, you will not be guaranteed a spot during this season. The logistics of the events are quite complicated so last minute cancellations put a huge strain on us.

Carpooling + Transportation
Each participant is responsible for getting to Whistler on their own. Before each lesson, we will send out shuttle info and a spreadsheet so participants can self-organize carpooling.

Lesson Cohorts and Community
In keeping with the themes of community and growth,  we hope that participants create connections to ski/ride with community members. Please try to exchange contacts with people in your lesson. You can also join our private FB group to connect with other folks.

We ask you not to treat our intentional work as a discounted ski/snowboard service. Please only apply if you believe in our mission and are looking to be part of community, and create connections with Black, Indigenous, and racialized folks. We are doing our best to support those who truly believe in change in the winter sports industry and beyond.

Please do not send us messages while you await registration details. We will be sharing regular updates as information and confirmations from Whistler Blackcomb team are shared with us.

Note: these lessons are for BIPOC folks only.
