Event Details

We love our allies but this event is for the BIPOC community. Thanks!

On Saturday, May 25th try mountain biking in a safe, supportive and fun environment. There will be two sessions that day, 8:30am-12pm and 12:30pm-4pm. Don’t be intimidated by the videos of pro bikers – we will take it easy and start off on very flat and wide trails as you learn the basics of mountain biking. The sport is fun to try and the instructors and community will be there to support you!

Participants must be 19 years or older for this event.

Thanks to Ozmosis Training we will have certified instructors leading each session who are thrilled to introduce the BIPOC community to this sport, safely! We’ll also have folks from TORCA (Tri-Cities Off Road Cycling Association) to help support the event and provide some food for lunch. Essential Cycles will provide bikes and protective gear (if needed). This program is supported by Peak Performance and Marin Bikes.

General biking experience (commuting, road bike, gravel bike or being comfortable on a bike) is needed to be able to attend and enjoy this event. That means being able to ride a bike safely where you’re able to stop and turn etc. You do not need specific mountain biking experience for this event.

The event cost will include the use of a rental bike for the duration of the session, 3.5hrs of learning from certified instructors, protective gear (if needed) and a pizza/pop lunch.

This event will be in Tri-Cities/Coquitlam area (exact location given to successful applicants) and will take place rain or shine. You can also organize carpooling after you receive a registration link, via our private Facebook Group.

We acknowledge that this event will take place on the unceded traditional territory of the Kwikwetlem First Nation, which lies within the shared territories of the Tsleil-Waututh, Katzie, Musqueam, Qayqayt, Squamish, and Sto’:lo Nations.

Once you submit your application, we’ll review to make sure folks are at an intro level, check which time slot you can make and send you a registration link on or before May 17. Please add us to your safe sender list to ensure you do not miss our email ([email protected]). We’ll do our best to have as many people take part in these sessions! Applications close May 12th at 9pm PST.

Thank you to our community investors supporting this event
