Learn how to stand-up paddleboard (SUP) in a fun and safe environment, with a backdrop of the North Shore mountains, Stanley Park and Downtown Vancouver! Over the course of this 1.5 hour lesson, learn about water and marine environment safety, the history of paddleboarding, equipment and of course, basic SUP techniques.
Stand-up-paddling is a great way to improve your core strength and balance, making it an ideal cross-training activity. On the flipside, being in the outdoors on a calm-water day, it can provide an incredibly peaceful experience. At the end of the lesson, you should feel confident renting out equipment and paddleboarding without a guide, recreating the special SUP experience whenever you like!
Your Paddleboarding Group Lesson registration includes use of a paddleboard, paddle, leash, life jacket and wetsuit (if applicable) for the duration of the lesson- no need to bring in your own.
There will be 7 people total and 1 instructor for this session.
What to Wear:
- shoes or sandals that are okay to get wet
- due to cold water, you’ll likely be wearing a wetsuit (provided). You can wear a bathing suit or spandex/bike short type material tights/shorts and top. Do not wear cotton as anything under the wetsuit will get wet.
- sunscreen if it’s sunny. You can wear a hat/sunglasses but if you happen to fall in, these may fall off/become lost in the ocean – wear at your own risk
Please check the weather before the event and dress accordingly! This event will run rain or shine and will only be rescheduled based on potentially dangerous wind or weather conditions.
