Event Details

This event takes place on the traditional, unceded territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) people.

Note: this is a frontcountry camping event, meaning camping at drive-in campsites, with NO hiking/backpacking required.

Come learn to camp with Colour the Trails and Parks Canada! During this fun weekend at Alice Lake Provincial Park in Squamish, you’ll enjoy various optional camping workshops and games throughout the day to increase your knowledge, learn about the land, and gain confidence and skills in the outdoors. Parks Canada will be providing campers with a tent, sleeping pad, and stove to use for the weekend—thank you!

We strongly encourage you to register with friends, family, or folks from our Facebook group as there will be only one six-person tent allowed and provided at each campsite. We’d love to have as many people try camping as possible, so if you’re not bringing your family/friends, please reach out to others in the community to share a tent and the cost of a campsite together. And if you have extra room in your tent, you must be open to sharing with other participants.

—————————-

Pricing: One campsite, for FOUR people in a four person tent: $141 + tax.

To upgrade to a six person tent and add up to 2 additional campers at your site, it will be $20.25 per person aged 7 and above (free for children 6 and under). If you’re bringing a child under 6, please email [email protected] so we can account for numbers.

If you do not have a group of 4-6 and would like to register as a solo camper, you can, but you will be sharing a tent with others. These tickets will be priced between $30-$35 + tax. Priority will be given to group registration for the sake of logistics so we encourage you to connect via the Facebook group to make your groups.

This means the minimum cost per site will be $141 + tax (4 people) and the max will be $181.50 + tax (6 people).

Who is this for?

We ask our allies to please let BIPOC folks register for this event, however families and couples with a white partner may register.

Policy and Community Guidelines

Cancellation Policy for Multi-day Adventure, Summits, Retreats, or Partnered Events

This policy applies to larger events, including summits, partnered events, and multi-day overnight events, where attendance planning and logistics are especially crucial. These events take us months to plan and execute. We understand that unexpected situations may arise that require event cancellations, but we want to ensure the smooth and fair execution.

  1. Cancellation Timeframe: For cancellations made at least 20 days in advance of the scheduled event or within the specific timeframe indicated by the event organizer in the registration information, participants will not incur any penalties. You can request a full refund or choose to transfer your payment to a future event.
  2. Cancellation Within 20 Days or Specified Period: In the unfortunate event that a cancellation is requested during specified time frame, or no show happens, the following policy will apply:
    1. Refund: Cancellations made less than 20 days of the event will not be eligible for a refund unless we manage to fill in the spot.
    2.  Penalty: A six months ineligibility to attend future events. We leave a right to cancel any registration of the person under penalty in this time frame. After the six month ineligibility period has elapsed, participants can once again sign up for future events without any restrictions.

Please read here for our full inclusion and cancellation policies.
