Event Details

We acknowledge that this event is taking place on the territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) First Nation. We are grateful to have the opportunity to live and work on this land.

Due to limited spots, we ask our allies to please let BIPOC folks register for this event first. Thank you!

Take advantage of Whistler’s gondola access to experience incredible alpine views. Alpine hikes can offer incredible views of old growth forests, glaciers, and beautiful meadows. This CTT event offers the opportunity to enjoy this classic BC scenery with a great group of community members.

This hike will be taking place on Blackcomb Mountain and we’ll be hiking the network of trails on the Blackcomb Alpine Trails. We’ll plan on hiking a section of Overlord Trail, which is an intermediate trail at around 4km in length (one way) and 120m in elevation gain, before cutting into Lakeside Loop, which is 2.2km and 40 minutes. You can expect the total hike to take around 3 hours. There will also be the option to decide as a group how much more we want to explore other areas.

If you need a visual guide to the trails around Blackcomb mountain, take a look at the alpine hiking trail map.

A Whistler gondola ticket normally costs $99+tax but, in partnership with Whistler Blackcomb, we’ll be offering this event for $30.

Participants will need to bring:

  • Comfortable hiking shoes
  • Water (we also highly recommend to have electrolytes)
  • Lunch and snacks

We will be sharing a carpool sign up list prior to the event. You can also organise carpooling through our Colour the Trails British Columbia | Facebook group.  If you are carpooling with someone, please make sure to chip in for gas/parking cost.

Event registration closes on August 19, 2024.

Please add [email protected] to your safe sender list. We will be contacting you with further information about the event and if the email ends up in your spam folder you may miss important information.
