Event Details

Get introduced to the sport of rock climbing in a fun and safe manner. A professional guide will teach you what you need to know.
We ask our allies to allow BIPOC members only to register for this event. Thank you! We love our allies, friends and partners. But we have very limited spots and want to give BIPOC the opportunity to try this sport.

About this Event

Transition from gym to crag or have your first climb be outdoors! The clinic will run will be lead by Claire Ellick. The day will be experiential rock climbing at an outdoor venue in the Kananaskis. No climbing experience is needed. Location may change based on weather – to be confirmed a few days before.

If you are new to climbing, or always wanted to try climbing please come join, this space is inclusive to everyone no matter your fitness level. Our hope is to foster and support our community to enjoy the natural landscape we have, while creating a community and fostering friendships.

Gear will be provided if needed or bring your own gear if you have any.

Equipment required: Harness, Helmet, Belay device, Rock Shoes.

Use of all climbing equipment is provided at no extra charge. We will send all participants an email upon registration to obtain shoe and harness sizes to get the equipment needed for everyone.

Each participant will need to bring:

Clothing:

Hiking boots or running shoes to walk to the climbing area

Rain jacket

Warm layers (toque, gloves/mitts, insulated jacket)

Sunglasses and sunscreen

Please bring a mask and hand sanitizer

A backpack that will fit your clothing, lunch and gear for the walk to the climbing area

Food:

1L of water

packed lunch/snacks for yourself

Other: All participants will need to sign a waiver and complete a pre-trip/course declaration of health and exposure (COVID)

Please note that you need a Kananaskis pass to access
