*PAST EVENT* (ON) Intro to Bird Watching

Join the community and learn about bird identification, and the birding community, enjoy nature and meet up with the Colour the Trails community!

Event Time: 10:00am-12:00pm

Location: Riverwood Conservancy in Mississauga

This event is taking place on the territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the traditional homeland of the Anishinaabe, Wendat, and Haudenosaunee nations. This territory is covered by the Upper Canada Treaties and is within the lands protected by the “Dish With One Spoon” wampum agreement. Today, this place is still home to many First Nations, Metis, and Inuit peoples. We are grateful to have the opportunity to live and work on this land.

Discover your inner birder as we share insights about birding in the Greater Toronto Area!

We’re excited to have Joanne Brathwaite of the Toronto Ornithological Club lead this event. She’s a Black woman in the Toronto birding community who loves photographing birds, talking about birds, and has put together a seriously cool, interactive presentation for us all.

She will cover the technical side of how to find and identify birds, as well as the tools and resources available to you. She will also talk about finding your birding vibe – different birding styles, and being part of the growing birding community.

If you’re interested in connecting to birds and nature, learning about bird identification, and meeting up with the Colour the Trails community, then this event is for you! So come get birdy with us in this interactive birding workshop!
