Description
Come and celebrate Black joy in the outdoors with us this Black Futures Month! We welcome all Black, mixed Black, and Afro-Indigenous folks to connect with the community amidst the awe-inspiring beauty of Whistler Blackcomb.
Last year we hosted a meetup with 15 folks and the vibes were high! Check out a small highlight:
Come for the vibes, stay for the community, leave with new friends. If you’re a beginner, you’ll laugh with your fellow participants as we learn to ski and snowboard during a group lesson.
We are hoping to book a private bus from Vancouver to Whistler and back so the good vibes would last from dawn till dusk.
What: This is a meetup for all Black folks who are interested in skiing, snowboarding, and creating community. We are offering lessons for beginners, which includes those who have never skied/boarded to those riding greens. For those skiing/riding blue runs and up, there will be no lesson, we’ll just be having fun riding together during the meetup.
When: Feb 10, 2024
For Black folks who want to try skiing/snowboarding for the first time
Age restrictions: Lessons are for 18+ only.
Transportation
We’re trying to arrange a private bus for us from Vancouver to Whistler and back so we can relax and hang out on the road. If we get 30-40 folks, the cost will be $20/person (we cover 60% of the full price). We encourage everyone to leave cars at home and come hangout on the bus without the stress of driving.

Our community is quite small and we see each other. We are doing our best to support those who truly believe in change in the winter sports industry and beyond.
